Associations and affinity groups present unique opportunities for using the buying power of the
group to help lower the cost of insurance, maintain good loss control and risk management
procedures, and provide a revenue stream for the sponsoring association in the form of royalties.
Intercorp works on a daily basis with a wide range of associations to create insurance solutions
that meet members’ needs.
We look for long-term solutions, not a quick fix that cannot withstand the ups and downs of the
marketplace. The key is to accurately assess the needs of a particular group, determine how
to best meet those needs, and create a product that solves the members’ insurance problems. In
doing so, the association becomes hero, the member is able to access a competitive insurance
product, and the association benefits from the resulting income in the form of a royalty.
For associations where staff and volunteer resources are stretched, we serve as an extension
of these resources to provide innovative solutions for member insurance needs. We work in
partnership with the association or affinity group in areas that go beyond the actual insurance
program, such as:
- Writing articles and providing educational materials on loss control.
- Educational seminars on loss control and insurance related topics.
- Exhibiting at association meetings and conventions.
Our representative in Washington, Michael Nail, is a former association executive who
understands associations from the inside. His observation:

“Associations that enjoy long-term success constantly strive to enhance member services
while finding new non-dues revenue streams to ensure the association’s financial viability.
The types of customized insurance programs that Intercorp is known for, and their unparalleled
commitment to customer services, help meet those two very important association success
goals and makes Intercorp stand out above the rest.” |
